Do I really need to have an opinion about this?

How often are we in a situation when we are almost forced to have an opinion about something. Think about this one… TV shows, news, politics, non-political issues, Tik-Tok, trends, the list goes on and go. And we are pretty much expected to have an opinion about it ALL. Sounds familiar?

In every conversation there is always a subject that comes up and ,really too a certain extend, not that you do not care about a subject, but you just don’t have an opinion a about it. One of the examples, politics, I may care less about politics, and I just maybe do not care, I just simply do not have an opinion about it. I may not have an opinion about a war, that should not affect me like a person. I may not support one side ot the other, I do think war is wrong – period. But I just don’t want to take sides. When I have an opinion – it’s practically people assume I take sides. I really do not. This is politics! Even if you think you are right about your opinion, you may actually be wrong, it’s POLITICS!

I may not have an opinion about LGBTQ, not that I do not care, I have friends that are gay, but that doesn’t mean I have to have an opinion about it. Why can’t I just care about my friends and not to have any particular opinion about other subjects. Same thing about Corona Virus, yes it affected me to a certain extend, but I may not have an opinion what is happening in China at this point. (I do have an opinion about this one though, just would like to keep it to myself 🙂 for some obvious reasons…)

My point is, every time we talk to someone, we are almost expected to have an opinion, if it’s war, corona, abortions, global warning, governor Nelson,  president Biden, Black Lives Matter … the list is endless. BUT what I am trying to say is that we are expected to have a some sort of opinion. I say we do not. Have to have an opinion .  I don’t want to be forced into taking a certain position, or any position just because of my conversation opponent. Not having an opinion doesn’t make me dumber, doesn’t make you smarter, right? I just chose not to have that opinion. This is not to be bias, this is not to be discriminative, this is not to be one way to the other, this is simply about not having an opinion about something.
