Never stop trying

It’s often said that failure is a natural part of the learning process, and
that success is built on a foundation of previous failures. In fact, many of
the most successful people in the world have failed many times before achieving
their goals. The key to success, however, is not just in failing, but in
persevering and continuing to try even when things get tough. Most of us tend
to give us easy after we mailed once or twice, but even Thomas Edison didn’t
give up on his idea after he did attempt 9,999 times! So if we believe in
something why give up after even 20 attempts?

There is that saying, which is attributed to Albert Einstein, which I think
about at times I need clarity, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and
over and expecting different results.” We may want to apply this to your
attempts, but you just need to add a least a tiny simple difference when you
are attempting again, make that small change in what you are doing, and you may
get completely different outcome!

One of the biggest reasons people give up is because they believe that
failure is the end of the road. They see it as a sign that they’re not good
enough, or that their dreams are unattainable. But in reality, failure is just
a temporary setback, and a valuable opportunity to learn and grow. Failure is
just the inability to meet an expectation, lack or success, the omission of
expected action (Oxford Dictionary). It doesn’t mean that you cannot reach
success!

Thomas Edison is a great example of this. It took him over 10,000 attempts
to invent the lightbulb, but he never gave up. When asked about his many
failures, he famously said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000
ways that won’t work.” Edison understood that failure was simply a step in
the process, and that the only way to truly fail was to stop trying. It is
really only how you look at it! Did you fail it 10,000 times, or did you find
10,000 way something cannot work?

Of course, it’s easy to say that you should never give up, but much harder
to put it into practice. When you’re faced with failure, it can be difficult to
find the motivation to keep going. That’s why it’s important to have a strong
sense of purpose, and to keep your goals in mind at all times.

One way to stay motivated is to break your larger goals down into smaller,
more manageable steps. This way, you can focus on making progress, rather than
on the ultimate outcome. Celebrate your small victories as much as you
celebrate your big victories! Use your small victories as fuel to keep going.

Another important factor is to surround yourself with people who support
you. Having a strong network of friends, family, and colleagues can provide the
encouragement and support you need to keep pushing forward. A good crowd will
keep reminding you that it is all worth it, not so good crowd will discourage
you after the 1st try. Just like in anything else you make your choice! If you
don’t have anyone supporting you, still do it. You can encourage yourself.
Write down all the reasons why you want to do it. Write down why this is
important to you. What will you get from achieving this something? There is
another saying “eye on the prize” – just another reminder! Set
alarms, memos all over the house, whatever it is that you need to do to remind
yourself why you want to achieve this goal! (check out my post on “Goals!” https://lanashabdeen.com/2023/01/06/goals/

Ultimately, the only true failure is giving up. As long as you continue to
try, to learn, and to grow, you’ll never truly fail. So embrace your failures,
learn from them, and keep striving towards your goals. Success may not come
overnight, but with perseverance and determination, it will come eventually.
